Emily Kahn was born and raised in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,

During her undergraduate studies at Lynchburg College, Emily joined 580 students from around the world on the University of Pittsburgh’s S.S. Universe Explorer –a floating university at sea. During that “Semester at Sea” program, Emily explored some of the most beautiful and ancient places on earth in an ocean-bound, academic setting.

After being a part of something so much greater than day-to-day living, Emily knew she had to share that with others through her work, and she knew it had to be done in a way that protected the planet.
Emily spent 8 years in Washington, D.C., working in international relations, eco-tourism, event planning, and clean and renewable energy. She simultaneously continued her post-graduate studies at George Washington University, finished her thesis in New Zealand, and earned her master’s degree in 2004.
She has channeled all of these life experiences into one single passion: starting a company that plans and produces unique, eco-friendly events in Central Texas. Her experience in the events industry ranges from planning and managing 1,500 person conferences to organizing small private events.
Technology Transition Corporation President Jeff Serfass said, “Emily is a great event planner who expanded our National Hydrogen Association Conference and Expo, greatly expanded industry sponsorship and was warmly received by all whom she came in contact with. She is driven by results but she also adds energy and joy to the overall enterprise.”

Emily has a BA in Multi-Cultural Communication Studies from Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia and an MTA in Event Management & Sustainable Destination Management (a.k.a. eco-tourism) from George Washington University, Washington, DC. She lives in Austin with her husband and son.
